Over the past 24 hours, I have read a lot of comments about The Oprah Winfrey Show’s final episode.  Of course, leave it to me to respond!

Some reviews stated that it was fantastic, while other’s proclaimed that they would have preferred to see Oprah give Charlie Sheen a makeover.  What! No gifts or final trips?

I thought it was classy and symbolic.   It was the way the Oprah Show should end.  It ended with grace.  The grace of God that we all have within us.

When something is final, it is final.  Like a person on their dying bed, they bestow words of wisdom, a thank you, and I love you to those who surround them.  At that perfect final moment, it’s not about the material or things, but about God’s grace and those who have touched your life.

(Actually, the only people worried about material and things at the time of a death are those who are still alive.  Want, want and want…they will have their day of finality too and we’ll see)

I thought it was a perfect moment.  A perfect goodbye.  A perfect thank you to those who made Oprah who she is today.  Without us, she would still be a news anchor who provided journalistic insight.

As a viewer, I feel honoured to have been spoken to directly, reguided down my path of self discovery, and acknowledged time and again, throughout the show, that if it wasn’t for me, there would be no HER.  It was a great send off for myself as well.

If you missed her finale here is her love letter to you.

That is the last I’ll speak of Oprah……Goodbye, take care, adieu
