I’m Going to the ShesConnected Conference in Toronto Ontario

I have received my invitation to ShesConnected and I’m so excited!

ShesConnected Conference 2011 - I'm Going!

I am going to my first conference in relation to my personal lifestyle blog.  I am so ridiculously excited.

Yes, as a business woman, I have thrown and attended many conferences and trade shows.  However, this one is very different.  It’s something that I initially initiated as a personal self growth venture, and it has evolved into so much more.

My blogging life started in 2008 and it was shared with family and friends only.  I had no idea what I was doing.  Drab Blogger templates, no zest to my work, and never pictures.  Just my thoughts.  However, once I met some wonderful women on Twitter, in December 2010, I began to realize that my blog could be my “pay it forward” to so many people.

Wow, have things changed in eight short months. My blog is receiving many visits per day, I have been invited to some very exciting events, and I have grown.   I am like that little sunflower seed that has turned into a great big yellow sunflower, with water and time.

For the most part, I am so excited for my new digital friends who were invited!  They work so hard to get where they are.  I mainly blog for pain and stress relief, but to many women, this is a full-time job!

Now, I have one dilemma; paying for my expenses.  I have developed a sponsorship proposal, but it’s by far weak in many ways.  I realize that my blog doesn’t receive the hits as most do.   I realize that I’m not specialized in one particular topic.  I realize that my Page Rank and Klout Score is a work in progress.  I realize that this will be a challenge.  But, nonetheless, just another challenge I’m willing to face.

Thanks ShesConnected for the opportunity!  This is a once in a lifetime for me and I hope that content, speakers, and networking enables me to get to the next step.
