Despite aching legs, a sore butt, and a 1/4 mile view to see Oprah’s Lifeclass Stage (that changed quickly), there wasn’t one minute that I would change about attending this monumental event.

Oprah Winfrey came to Toronto with a bang!  Oprah’s Lifeclass, which was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, instilled peace, forgiveness, and gratitude within all of us.   Oprah and all of her Lifeclass teachers—Iyanla Vanzant, Tony Robbins, Bishop T.D. Jakes and Deepak Chopra—discussed forgiveness and how to let go of the past.

My absolutely favorite of the teachers was Tony Robbins.  He instilled something in me that I NEVER had, which is childlike spirit.  Sure, I always knew it was lurking within, but it was my ah-ha moment of the night.  I want to scream.  I want to dance with excitement.  I want to say everything is fantastic, even when it’s not!

Finding Forgiveness

I’ve chosen to forgive and let be.   I think between Iyanla and Tony, I’ve found the reason why I have built this wall!  I wanted to ask the question during the course of the evening, but at the end, I felt a mystifying peace within me.

“You can accept or reject the way you are treated by other people, but until you heal the wounds of your past, you will continue to bleed. You can bandage the bleeding with food, with alcohol, with drugs, with work, with cigarettes, with sex, but eventually, it will all ooze through and stain your life. You must find the strength to open the wounds, stick your hands inside, pull out the core of the pain that is holding you in your past, the memories, and make peace with them.”—Iyanla Vanzant

Another fantastic moment was Iyanla Vanzant making her appearance at the back of the convention center (remember a 1/4 mile hike) to dance her way to the front of the stage.  I was returning from the washroom and came face to face with her.  I simply said, “OMG, you’re shitting me?  Right on!”  I stood there for the longest time watching her dance her way until I could see her no more!

Before taping before a live studio audience, Bishop T.D Jakes spoke about being pregnant.  I wasn’t quite following as I was having another Wi-Fi moment.  However, I knew that this was another ah-ha moment in the making.  I threw everything in my purse and let it be.

Reverand T.D. Jakes

I am Pregnant!  Pregnant with Possibilities!  Pregnant with something wonderful!  AND I AM READY TO GIVE BIRTH!

T.D Jakes was by far the most animated of the four speakers.

Deepak Chopra, despite my complete love for his serenity and peacefulness, was very dry. I have him on my IPod and listen to his words often.   I think that the problem was due to the fact that after waiting six-hours in line, sore butt, and legs, we needed a little more excitement to shake the tired out of us and awaken the spirit within!   During the life class taping, I was able to welcome and digest his stillness and wise words.

My Favorite Moment

I think my most sentimental moment was Joseph, the 16-year-old boy who didn’t talk to his father in over three years due to the separation of his parents.  He reminded me of my son; his smile, his demeanor, and his innocence.  Poor little soul.

I had the opportunity while I was in the flood of 8,000 other people trying to make an exit, to come face to face with Joseph.  I made it a point to tell him how wonderful and brave he was to speak out on behalf of so many children who felt the same way.  I congratulated him for his courage.

The Conclusion of my Journey With Oprah Lifeclass

All in all, Oprah was beautiful, Oprah was entertaining, and it was a delightful evening.  I am blessed and honored to attend such an event.   Much like my experience with Gaga, it was a once in a lifetime treat.  It was spiritual and life-changing.

I arrived home at 1:30 am as the collector’s to 401 was shut down.  I quickly forgave whomever caused this 🙂 after a big sigh and yawn.  I made my way through Mississauga without cause and I made it home safe and sound to two sleeping teenagers.

Today was filled with useless activities due to fatigue, but I managed to get some work done and above all share this experience with you!

Thank you Oprah for coming to Canada and blessing us with this opportunity!

One day I will share just like you have done the past 25+ years…it’s unfolding as we speak because someone is reading this message.
