Remember Gabourey Sidibe? Yes, the Oscar Nominated Actress from Precious? The one that Oprah bragged so much about? Well Joan Cusack had a few words of advice for her.
Sidibe met Cusack at an industry party well before her claim to fame with Precious. Cusack was quick to tell her to get out of the business due to her image.
Speaking on Bravo TV show ‘Watch What Happens Live’, Sibide says, “What celebrity was I disappointed by? Oh, and it’s not in a mean way, because I know that she meant well.
“I met Joan Cusack, who is my favourite favourite – I love her – but, it was before I became (famous) or whatever. I was at some industry party, and she says, ‘Are you an actress?’ And I said, ‘Yeah!’ And she says, ‘Oh honey, you should really quit the business, it’s so image-conscious.”
Joan, Joan, Joan, you are a super talented actress, but I’ve always found you to be a fish out of water in the Hollywood image department as well.
When will people understand that times are changing and anyone anywhere can fit in? Even with the Hollywood Starlets.
