Boots and Hearts is pleased to announce a free breakfast on Sunday, August 12th at 11 am on the Main Stage with performances by High Valley and Michelle Wright, and special guest speaker Mike Fisher of the Nashville Predators with Gino Reda from TSN.  Generously facilitated and served by Youth Unlimited, the brunch includes a free continental breakfast for the first 15,000 festival goers that show up, with artists High Valley and Michelle Wright performing their favorite gospel songs. Mike Fisher was the recipient of the 2011-12 NHL Foundation Player Award that recognizes an NHL player who applies the core values of hockey — commitment, perseverance and teamwork — to enrich the lives of people in his community.  He will be doing a Q&A with Gino Reda about providing a testimony of his experience as a World Vision ambassador.

“Having grown up right down the road, it’s exciting to see a world-class music festival like this being brought to our region.  When I heard the concept the promoters were working on for Sunday morning, I was happy to help any way that I could,” said Fisher.  “Faith is obviously something that’s played a vital role in my life, and I think the idea of providing a free breakfast to festival goers while great artists perform their favourite gospel songs is really cool. It’s something that I’ve never seen or even heard of at another festival before.”
Mike’s World Vision Ambassadorship
As a World Vision Ambassador Mike has seen the impact first hand during his tour of El Salvador.  Boots and Hearts is proud to have the opportunity to share this testimony with festival goers and would also like to thank Youth Unlimited, a non-denominational, non-profit ministry organization, which has secured 100+ volunteers to organize and serve the breakfast.  All donations from the Sunday morning breakfast will be going to help Youth Unlimited reach, challenge, and empower youth to be intentional about their purpose and building up their local communities.
“Sunday morning is generally when you have no food left in your cooler, and less money than you thought left in your wallet.  That’s why we were so excited to be able to offer a free continental breakfast for the first 15,000 campers to join us that morning,” says Shannon McNevan, Executive Director, Republic Live.  “World Vision and Youth Unlimited have been amazing partners on this as well.  We’re thankful for the opportunity to give back by coming together as a community, being challenged by Fish’s testimony, and learning about how we can make a difference in the lives of youth around the world.  A huge thanks to World Vision, and Youth Unlimited for so generously making this brunch possible.”
