Rihanna wraps up latest album
It seems like Rihanna never stops working. Her albums seem to come out yearly. The Barbadian singer who’s hits include 2007’s Umbrella and 2011’s Only Girl in the World, has finished yet another album. This time around she’s calling it, Unapologetic.
The title was revealed last month, and fans have already had a tease of things to come, because the first single off the record, Diamonds was released last month. However, we didn’t know how far along the new record was, until she tweeted to let fans know of its completion. Not long now until we’ll have a new playlist for our Cheekybingo, Facebook and Twitter monitoring.
“Man my album is complete, and I need a ******* drink! It was quite the journey, but it’s all part of our story! #UNAPOLOGETIC,” she wrote on her Twitter page.
Rihanna also treated her fans, by giving them an exciting preview of the cover of Unapologetic last month. The star is topless in the picture, with several words scrawled across her. Words which fans speculate are from the songs on the album.
Overall fans seem to be incredibly excited for the new album, with many replying back to inform her of their excitement. However there are bound to be plenty of people less enthusiastic. While many artists like Adele take long breaks between each album, to make sure the quality is up to scratch, Rihanna is currently on her seventh album in very quick succession. There is such a thing as over exposure to the same artist.
Still, it’s hardly going to dampen her sales. Diamonds was released in September, and topped the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Plus she will embark on her Diamonds World Tour in March 2013 in support of the new album. There’s going to be much more to come from the beauty yet.
