Golden Globe Hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Nail It!

After several years of blase hosts and artificial laughs, the 2013 Golden Globe Awards exceeded expectations.  Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s opening monologue was full of laughter and with a delicate dash of “OMG, I can’t believe she just said that.”

Oscar snubbed Ben Affleck took home best director for his movie Argo.   Affleck, in a very rushed speech, honored fellow nominees Steven Spielberg for “Lincoln,” Ang Lee for “Life of Pi,” Kathryn Bigelow for “Zero Dark Thirty” and Quentin Tarantino for “Django Unchained.”

“Look, I don’t care what the award is. When they put your name next to the names she (Halle Berry) just read off, it’s an extraordinary thing in your life,” Affleck said.

Jodie Foster gave a rather cryptic, but very “real” spiel about life as a celebrity after receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement.  I’m thinking it was a coming out/retirement speech?    Check out this rather poorly made video of Jodie’s speech.
