uwcfAs I’ve stated before in many of my blog posts, 2013 was going to be a year of making a difference.  This year wasn’t going to be about receiving products to review but about giving and showcasing some of the wonderful Canadian events, large and small.

Life’s a Blog is a media sponsor for the 2013 Waterloo Comedy Festival.  Why did I choose this venue for my first media sponsor opportunity?  Well, the story is short and sweet.   I have always wanted to do stand up comedy.  In fact, when I was sixteen, my dream was to be on Saturday Night Live.  My dreams never surfaced due to stage fright, the fear of my jokes not being funny enough and me not feeling good enough…….but with all dreams, we can achieve them someday.  My life isn’t done YET, so who knows.

This fantastic event takes place from March 6 – March 9th and will host the best in Canadian Comedy.  With comedians like Steve Patterson from CBC’s The Debaters, Derek Edwards, and Nikki Payne, who wouldn’t want to spend a night out laughing in one of the greatest cities in Ontario?

On March 6th, there will be a screening of  ‘Alone Up There’, a documentary film by director Sean Patrick Shaul.  The film highlights the highs and lows of being a stand-up comedian and what it is like doing the hardest job in the entertainment industry.    This film is a perfect launch to the Festival.

Over the course of the next week my posts will include my interview with Sean Patrick Shaul and highlights of the upcoming festival.  I hope to see all of my readers from the Golden Triangle attend this event!
