Tennessee born Brandon Lay open the show Thursday night. I only caught the last two songs but he had the crowd fired up and made us excited for the rest of the show.
Dylan Scott came out with his high energy style and kept the crowd on their feet. He played many of his well known songs such as “Hooked”, “Ball Cap” and “Nothing to Do Town”. He played a melody of older song “Fishing in The Dark, Dust On The Bottle, I Like It, I Love It, Check Yes or No” and then slowed it down for his version of Keith Whitley’s “When You Say Nothing At All.”. Dylan Scott got the crowd wound up again with “Beer Buddies” and then closed the show with his hit “My Girl”, leaving me wanting more! For me his set seemed to go way to fast and I look forward to seeing him again in concert!
Brantley Gilbert came on the stage with a lot of flames and him rising out of them with a Harley, which he told us later in the show is his first bike. He kicked off the show with “Fired Up” and continued with many of his other songs such as “The Weekend”, “The Ones Like Me” and “It”s About to Get Dirty”. He then slowed it down and sang “Outlaw in Me” and talked about his wife Amber and how marrying her and having his kids changed his life for the better. He also talked about how he was in trouble since the birth of his daughter and would probably end up in prison now, but not to worry he has friends to protect him! Along with the birth of his daughter in 2019 and he talked about what an amazing year it was for him and how he had the opportunity to do some duets. The first with an amazing singer from Canada Lindsey Ell (which got a huge reaction from the crowd) and one with Five Finger Death Punch in which the proceeds go to the Gary Sinise Foundation benefiting first responders. Gilbert performed both of those songs. He also performed “One Hell of An Amen”. It is clear from listening to Gilbert that he is very appreciative of both the Canadian and American military as well as first responders for our freedoms. Brantley Gilbert also performed “Dirt Road Anthem” and “My Kinda Party” which have been made popular by Jason Aldean but Gilbert has writing credits on. He closed out the show with a single encore “Bottoms Up.” I am an old school country music person and found that this show had a real rock flair to it, which is not my kind of show. That being said I did enjoy the show and I am glad that I went. Now what is coming up next????????
