Half Broke Horses, written by Jeannette Walls, is told from the view point of her grandmother Lily Casey Smith who was, as Jeannette recalls, “one tough old broad.” Lily was born in a dugout in 1901 and was raised on horse ranch .  She learns to break horses at an early age by her father who trains horses for carriages.  At  the age of 15 she rides by horseback across the country for 500 hundred miles to be a school teacher. I have downloaded on my Kobo another great story by Nicholas Sparks. Even though it was written in 2008. This one involves destiny and fate. A young man who when serving his time in Iraq finds buried in the sand a photo of a young woman.   He brings the picture back to camp  to see if someone claims it . Mark of the Lion is a series of three books by the Author Francine Rivers. She writes Christian fiction and I was introduced to her writing through my mom.   The plot is outstandingly good. You get lost in the action, history and geography of the plot. These books are very will written and so in touch with the virtues of life.
