Recently, I came up with an ingenuis idea that any Mom of a busy home could come up with.
Problem #1: My darling husband hates Crock Pot cooking as he feels that everything tastes like chicken in it. I love cooking with a Crock Pot because I can put something together in the morning and have a nutritious meal at night.
Problem #2 My children, who are 15 and 17, couldn’t cook a meal if they tried.
So I decided to take matters into my own hands and invite Crock Pot into my life in a BIG way. I have challenged my husband and kids to try to eat 5 Crock Pot meals per week. To top it off, some of these meals MUST be prepared by my children.
During this month, I will be giving away one 6-quart Cook and Carry Crock Pot to one of my readers.
So here goes. I took it upon myself to make the first meal following our big Thanksgiving Supper. (No Picture)
Turkey Vegetable Soup with Barley
Turkey Broth
1 Turkey Carcass
1 Onion chopped up
2 Celery Sticks chopped
2 carrots chopped
1 TBSP of Summer Savory

Put all of the ingredients into the Crock Pot and cook on low for 10 hours. Strain broth into Crock Pot. Discard turkey carcass and mix.
