Well my son was all in when I received the 6-quart Crock Pot last week and challenged him to learn how to cook. His first recipe was Sausage Bread Pudding.

We went to the grocery store and picked up the ingredients.  For a 15-year-old, I was impressed at his attention to detail.  “No Mom, we need smokey sausages.’  Yeah, yeah OK kid.

It was quite an easy recipe to make.

Ingredients

4 eggs
2 cups of Milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
1 package os smoky breakfast sausages, cut into 1/4 pieces
3/4 cup of Shredded Cheese
2 cups of day-old bread cubes, cut into 1/2 inch pieces.

Beat eggs in large bowl.  Add milk, salt, pepper, and red pepper flake. Stir well.   Stir in sausage, cheese and bread.  Let mixture sit for 10 minutes.

Butter 2 quart baking dish that fits inside your crock pot.  Pour sausage mixture into dish.  Cover dish with buttered foil, butter side down (opps we forgot to do this)

Pour 1 inch of hot water into Crock-Pot slow cooker.  Add baking dish.  Cover; cook on low for 4 to 5 hour or until knife in mixture comes out clean.

Enjoy!

Overall this dish was quite tasty with a little snap to it.  I can’t wait and see what Brandon will make next, but until then, I have a Crock-Pot to giveaway to my readers. Enter today and keep watching this challenge until November 14th.
