If you’re looking for a venue close to home with spectacular restaurants and adult entertainment, look no further than Casino Rama located in Rama, Ontario.
A few months ago, friends purchased tickets to the Collective Soul concert that was being held at the Entertainment Centre at Casino Rama. I was invited by the team at Casino Rama to stay at their hotel and experience first hand the incredible services and amenities available.
Our Arrival
One step inside the lobby at Casino Rama has you reaching for your camera or Smartphone. Spectacular best describes the grand lobby that features a rustic Muskoka-like decor, massive chandeliers, a stone waterfall and native artistry. You’ll find the meticulous attention to detail throughout the hotel.
The front desk staff were quick and thorough with our reservation. They took the time to learn about the purpose of our visit and ensured that I had my bearings, in this massive complex, before retrieving our luggage with the concierge.

Touring the Facilities
After picking up our tickets at the Box Office, we settled at the Firestarter Lounge, overlooking the lobby, to commence our weekend getaway with a drink. The cozy atmosphere, the live pianist, and the selection of seating gave us the “ahhh” moment that we were all waiting for after our two-and-a-half hour drive.
Casino Rama also offers a multitude of amenities for guests of the hotel. All registered guests can take advantage of their indoor pool, steam room, sauna, hot tub and adult-only fitness facilities. The pool area also opens to a cozy rooftop patio that was fantastic.
The Deluxe Suite
Everyone who reads Life’s a Blog knows that our mission in life is FUN. The Deluxe Suite at Casino Rama only made our getaway that much sweeter.

The suite included a comfortable living area, two heavenly Sealy Posturepedic double beds, and a large washroom that included a walk-in shower and separate bathtub.
The native art and fireplace in the suite provided a welcoming ambiance that encouraged us to unwind and get the weekend off to a pleasant start.
Pop dispensers, ice machines, and elevators were close in vicinity and operable. Despite the lack of a mini-fridge and coffee machine, this suite was incredible.
St. Germain’s Steakhouse
This is where our story of a fabulous night in Rama, Ontario begins. I am not one to dress up often but if it includes fine dining, count me in! The hotel staff made reservations for us at St. Germain’s Steakhouse two hours before the show. From the hostess to our waiter, the service was impeccable.
St. Germain’s Steakhouse, is one out of the eight restaurants and lounges available within the Casino Rama facilities. From seafood to AAA Alberta beef, St. Germain’s offers something for everyone. I enjoyed the lobster tails, with red roasted potatoes, asparagus, and carrots while the other three in my party ordered 18 oz. rib-eye steaks. The food was fantastic, the drinks were flowing, and with great company, this was truly an exceptional dining experience that we will not forget.
We were a little pressed for time to get to the show for 9 pm, so we opted out on dessert, changed clothes, and headed to the Entertainment Center for a little 90’s rock and roll.
Casino Rama Entertainment Centre & Collective Soul Concert
After working the music festival and arena scene, the entertainment centre, at Casino Rama, was a welcoming surprise. I had a media photography pass and the staff at Casino Rama couldn’t have been more helpful when providing me the band’s instructions and guiding me to my location. (They also provided me with a set list which I NEVER get). The cameraman also ensured that I had access to prime locations to photograph the band.
The center holds approximately 5,000 people and has two large screens at either end of the stage. Collective Soul was amazing and brought back many memories. I will be sharing my photography this week in another post so stay tuned.
The Casino
After a fantastic 90-minute performance, our crew headed back to our room for a drink to unwind and chat about the concert before heading to the casino. The casino was massive with slot machines, table games, and lounges. My friend, Sharon, and I took our chances on slots. I was enamored by the Michael Jackson machine, which “Beat Me” while it chimed MJ tunes from my teenage years. Sharon came out a little ahead, while I lost it all. Overall, it was fun. The only thing I have to say is that I wish all casinos had the same machines. Some of them are so darn complicated to understand! ….so I simply bet and hope for the best.
It’s Not Over Until We Eat
What do two couples of teenagers do after a grueling night of eating, music, gambling, and drinks? Why we eat again!!! In the wee hours of the morning, my husband was on the hunt for a poutine. I was thoroughly impressed that the staff at The Weirs Restaurant satisfied his craving without poutine being on the menu. The Weirs Restaurant is a 24-hour restaurant located within the lobby of Casino Rama. Very friendly staff for that hour of the morning!
In spite of our full bellies as we settled down to sleep, I had the best sleep I had in ages (and that says a lot).
Overall Review of Casino Rama
It’s clearly a good night when you’ve welcomed the sun rise!

Heck no! It was a GREAT evening!
Our weekend is almost surreal now that we have returned to work and our lives with teenagers. With great friends a journey is always fun, but it’s always better when entertainment is right at your fingertips. This is why so many people choose Casino Rama as a getaway for adult style entertainment.
The food, casino, entertainment centre, and staff gave us the pleasure of having a worry free getaway without the hassle of driving from one place to another. As you can see by the time that we went to bed, if the place did close down, we would have closed it down!
We are now planning our next trip to Casino Rama but need to decide who we will be seeing next. My vote is for Lionel Richie performing at Casino Rama on October 2nd,2013……thus far, the rest of my crew isn’t following my lead.
