I was up and at it, at 3 a.m on April 29, 2011, to witness history with over 2 billion people around world.   Twitter and Facebook was a flutter.  The Royal Wedding of William and Kate, the newly appointed Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, was a magnificant event to be a part of.

In my opinion, the wedding wasn’t as spectacular as Charles and Di’s nuptials. However, when they wed I was nine years old and a dreamer.

From William’s “Shy Di” arrival, to their first smile at the alter, to the kiss on the balcony, this is a day that every little girl around the world dreams of.  Kate was probably no different and she found her prince.

I can’t believe how much things have changed since the 80’s.  In the eighties, the wedding dresses were more Disney princess like. However, Kate looking absolutely elegant and regal in her wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.. (Side note: I still like the princess look)

Surprisingly, William is much like Diana.  For a man who’s been born into a high status position, he possesses the same shyness as Diana did in the early days of marriage.  He looked absolutely elated to be marrying his long time love this morning and respectfully whispered, “You look beautiful” to her when she arrived at the alter.

Just Married and Oh So Happy
(my favorite newspaper quote on the day of Chuck and Di’s Wedding)

I hate to compare weddings, but this is a time where many of us are Remember Diana and her beauty.  I don’t know about you, but I remember her wedding like it was yesterday.
I will not regret being cranky all day long to witness this historical event (even though many of my colleagues will).
Til Next Time,
