News Anchor, Jennifer Livingston, Stands Up Against Bullying by Calling Out Her Bully On-Air

WKBT anchor Jennifer Livingston put the daily news aside, during Tuesday’s morning newscast (Oct. 2, 2012), to directly address a recent email she received from a viewer complaining about her weight.  I almost did my own fat lady dance as I watched this video.  I am so happy that someone else had the guts to stand up for who she is above and beyond her weight.   I know how Jennifer feels as I experience this reality often.  Many people assume that I’m not smart enough or pretty enough to get in front of people despite having so many amazing qualities.

Uninvited critical criticism is never OK   If one feels compelled to provide uninvited insults to another, make no mistake, it is bullying, hurtful, and simply wrong.  I tell this to my children daily because sometimes the fine line between critical criticism and bullying is often skewed.  Check out the comments to this video on YouTube and you’ll soon understand what I mean!

Cheers to you Jennifer!!
