I have never fully comprehended the meaning of drive until I met some of these HGTV personalities. The Baeumlers being one of them. The Baeumlers have four school-age children, a production company, a couple of television shows and a plethora of business partnerships. How they manage to get away and vacation on a boat is beyond me! But it drives me to work harder and prove that we can do it too!
I did not start my adulthood being wealthy. Actually, my husband and I moved to Ontario with about $2,000 in our bank account and two children under the age of 2. It was a blast. Bill collectors phoning all of the time. My husband working all night at Challenger and babysitting the kids until noon. Finally, my husband ended up with Crohn’s disease because of the said chaos we lived in so we could escape the seasonal employment of a small East coast town. Not a great beginning to a marriage.
But we made it.
We own a small raised bungalow in Cambridge and our children have finally left the nest. Regrettably, it’s always been a struggle and renovations are few and far between when things ALWAYS pop up to deplete our savings. Someday we say!
This is our someday. Redoing this kitchen and getting rid of that fridge that’s loaded with duct tape. I want a top to bottom fridge, as I have a limousine freezer in my basement (long story and it was one of those things that popped up!)
See that brown off to the left? Yes, that’s a DIY pantry after we replaced the furnace with a high-efficiency. We were able to get rid of the chimney and create pantry space! Note: This pic was taken a year ago. The only difference is the bread on the microwave – we eat less of it now and I have a bread basket.
If any of you out there is experiencing the anxieties of raising a family and keeping a home up to date like we did, I highly encourage you to read on. This would be an excellent opportunity to explore the amazing opportunity between Corus Entertainment, the Baeumlers and RBC bank.
