This wildly hilarious festival is bringing legendary comedians to Halifax’s great outdoors this Summer!
The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival is expanding to the east coast this August, bringing its unique blend of vibrant outdoor festival and full-service comedy club to Halifax. To kick off this incredible weekend, the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival is pleased to share the first headliner who will be bringing life and laughter to the Garrison Grounds. On Friday, August 11, the Garrison Grounds welcomes legendary actor, author and stand-up comedian, Jerry Seinfeld!
Jerry Seinfeld’s comedy career took off after his first appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1981. Eight years later, he teamed up with fellow comedian Larry David to create what was to become the most successful comedy series in the history of television: Seinfeld. His latest Emmy nominated Netflix projects include Jerry Before Seinfeld and 23 Hours to Kill along with the highly acclaimed web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
“We are very excited to be bringing the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival to the east coast this summer,” says Mike Anderson, President of Trixstar LIVE, “let alone have a comedy legend like Jerry Seinfeld kick things off for us. Halifax has been so welcoming so far, and we’re eager to show them a wildly hilarious weekend with our unique festival setup and VIP tables, all for a good cause!”
Trixstar LIVE’s vision with the events they produce is to create impact in the communities they visit. A portion of proceeds from festival ticket sales will be donated to the Canadian Progress Club – Halifax, a group of dedicated volunteers creating paths for those with special needs.
“Special events are at the centre of what Progress Club is known for, and we’re excited at the opportunity to work with the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival as they make their way East.” says Progress Club President, Kevin Burgess. “In March, our team hosts the 50th annual Sports Charity Dinner, and then in August we get to segue into this amazing new event. Based on the amazing lineup that Trixstar has put together for this Summer, it’s not hard to envision that the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival could become a new pillar in our fundraising efforts for years to come.”
