To the holiday watcher still holding on tight,
Here’s a little rhyme to really set things right:
You always knew I wrote of truth and struggles,
Of journeys and healing and life’s messy puzzles.

One year ago, I organized a dream come true,
Seven months ago, a secret was held back by a shrew.
But, she opened the door, you said goodbye,
So enough already with your big sack of lies.

She’s back in the saddle with her little honey.
So why keep watching me—now isn’t that funny?
You ask me not to speak of your cherubs so dear,
But I’ve never talked badly—let’s make that clear.

You crossed a line when my circles grew thin,
I stayed by your side while you let the past in.
So let’s both move forward, let the past chapters close,
I’ll keep writing my truths, as everyone knows

So Happy New Year to you and let it all go.
I hope Waterloo doesn’t get hit with much snow.
As the 2nd is normalcy and you’ll have to shoo,
So here’s my last word: leave me alone too.
