CAA Roadside ASsistanceWell my parents have finally arrived for the holidays.  It was a 22-hour drive from Gaspe, Quebec to Cambridge, Ontario.   They didn’t leave on the best of weekends as an incredible amount of snow fell in Ontario and Quebec.

When loved ones are on the road during the holiday season, sometimes the anticipation for Christmas can be overruled by the anxious feeling that even experienced drivers, like my father, utilizing winter tires (which are mandatory in Quebec) can lose control on black ice.   It is my considered opinion that it is so important to have roadside assistance should your vehicle finds its way off the road.

HIGHWAY 401 ISN’T A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH

Just recently, my friend lost her son to a tragic accident on Highway 401.  It was due to a sleepy driver behind him and also poor weather conditions on Halloween night.  While most accidents do not end in such a tragedy when driving on the 401, it made me think about how I can arm my daughter, who is a new driver, with the best possible tools to ensure that if she is stranded on the highway she can reach out for help.

I’ve had a CAA membership for a long time.  It has always been under my name which doesn’t allow her to take advantage of the services.    With services like towing, auto repair, and fantastic discounts, it seems like a mandatory service to give  to her this year.
