Plan International’s Because I’m a Girl initiative is a social movement that works towards unleashing the power of girls and women from around the world. While girls are often the poorest of the poor, it has been proven that investing in girls is the key to eliminating poverty.

October 11th has been declared by the United Nations as the International Day of the Girl Child! This day will create a foundation to advocate and recognize girls’ rights globally.

Canadian footwear company, Flurries will be donating $2 from every in-store and online sale made on October 11th to Plan Canada’s Because I’m a Girl. The company will also be accepting donations in all storesacross Canada, as well as through an online donation website.
