Residing in Nashville, Amy has gained recognition as the most-played Australian female artist on country radio from 2022 to 2023, and her momentum is swiftly carrying over to the US. Her new single “Overthinking” recently climbed to number 85 on the Music Row Top 100, indicating a growing popularity in the American country music arena.

“Overthinking,” co-written by Amy, Lindsay Rimes (collaborator with Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Nate Smith), and Phil Barton (known for his work with Lee Brice, Eli Young Band, Gabby Barrett), is a poignant track exploring the emotional turbulence following a past relationship. It touches on the pervasive thoughts about an ex-lover, reminiscing shared moments, yearning for their presence, and the struggle of moving forward. The song resonates with its deep, heartfelt lyrics, capturing the essence of overthinking and the lasting impact of enduring love.

Amy describes “Overthinking” as her most ambitious single yet, blending country with a hint of pop-rock. Inspired by music icons like The Chicks, Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Maren Morris, Amy aimed to create a song that’s both emotionally rich and an anthem for singing out loud with friends.

Following an eventful 2023, which included a notable performance on ‘The Masked Singer Australia’ where she finished fifth as Orca, Amy has solidified her status as a leading Australian female singer-songwriter. As a founding member of the indie-pop group Sheppard with her siblings George and Emma, she has been instrumental in their global success, contributing to over two billion streams and five million record sales. Sheppard’s global recognition includes their US Platinum-certified hit ‘Geronimo’, and numerous high-profile performances and awards.

Amy’s connection to country music runs deep, having grown up with it in Papua New Guinea, where she was influenced by artists like The Chicks, The Mavericks, George Strait, Shania Twain, and Faith Hill. Her passion for country music was reignited at the CMC Rocks Festival in 2019, leading her to relocate to Nashville to pursue her solo career.

Since moving to Nashville, Amy has embraced the city’s vibrant music scene, seeing it as the perfect place to grow as a country artist. She has already scored five Top 5 hits on the Australian country airplay chart in her solo career. Her debut EP, “Nothing But Wild,” topped the ARIA Australian Country Album chart, and she has collaborated with artists like Home Free and Travis Collins.

Apart from music, Amy is an advocate for body positivity, launching the “Kiss My Fat Ass” campaign in 2019 and featuring in the documentary “Embrace Kids.” She is often invited to speak about self-image and acceptance.
