The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) has announced the contenders for this year’s big contest. Eight semi-finalists from across five provinces in Canada will soon be hitting the recording studio to create new songs. These songs will be shared with fans of Canadian country music, who will get a chance to vote for their favorite. As the competition heats up, it will be narrowed down to the final three contestants. They will battle it out for the top spot, known as SiriusXM’s Top of the Country winner, and a grand prize of $25,000.

The semi-finalists for 2024 are:

  • Robert Adam from Bonnyville, Alberta
  • Alexa Goldie from Kingston, Ontario
  • Parker Graye from Orillia, Ontario
  • Zach McPhee from Vernon, British Columbia
  • Tony Stevens from Surrey, British Columbia
  • Trudy from Montreal, Quebec

Michelle Mearns, from SiriusXM Canada, mentioned how popular country music is right now and praised the exceptional talent of this year’s top eight. She highlighted that the competition is a great way for up-and-coming artists to kickstart their careers and noted the positive impact it has had over the years.

After the public votes for their favorites, the top three will head to Nashville for special mentorship opportunities and will perform at the 2024 CMA Fest. They’ll also perform at Lasso Montréal in August, leading up to the grand finale during Country Music Week in September. The winner will take home $25,000, and the two runners-up will each receive $10,000. Fans who can’t be there in person can catch the finale live on SiriusXM’s Top of the Country Radio.

Amy Jeninga from the CCMA expressed excitement about the competition and its role in supporting and promoting Canadian country music talent. She looks forward to seeing what this year’s semi-finalists will achieve.

SiriusXM’s Top of the Country, in collaboration with the CCMA, is part of SiriusXM’s commitment to highlight and support emerging Canadian music talent, offering significant financial support and a wide-reaching platform to showcase these artists.
