Gary Collins, a terrific actor and host of the Miss America Pagaent has passed away
Harrison County Deputy Coroner stated that he passed of natural causes just before 1:00 AM at Biloxi Regional Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Gary Collins was a television fixture in the 80’s with gigs on Perry Mason, Fantasy Island, Charlie’s Angels, Alice, The Love Boat, and Police Story. My memory of Collins was that he hosted the Miss America Pageant from 1985-1989.
Although separated last year, he married former Miss America Mary Ann Mobley in 1967 and the couple had one child, Mary Clancy, together. Collins also had two children, Guy William and Melissa, from a previous marriage.
Over the last few years, Collins had several run-ins with the law, including a DUI arrest. We extend our deepest sympathies to family and friends.
