Sunday’s race at Darlington was an exciting one with so many story lines happening. Sunday’s race was the last race of the regular season. Some driver’s had already secured their playoff berth by winning previous races, but some were still trying to lock themselves in. Tyler Reddick and Kyle Larson were racing for the regular season championship and that would be decided at this race as well. All of that while trying not to be caught by the Lady In Black who did catch a few cars and ended a few drivers chance at a playoff berth.
True to form the long 500 mile race waws grueling and hot and it came down to the last lap at the start finish line. In a Cinderella story, Chase Briscoe secured his spot in the first round of the playoffs, giving Stewart Haus Racing their final chance at a Championship. Briscoe also did this with his idol Tony Stewart’s number on the car. Tyler Reddick won the regular season championship. Martin Truex Jr, although ended his race very early was also able to secure his spot in the playoffs for his last attempt at a Championship. First race of the playoffs will be this Sunday in Atlanta and after this weekends racing, Atlanta should be an interesting race to watch!
