ET Canada’s 6th annual New Year’s Eve at Niagara Falls is set to deliver Canada’s biggest live countdown show featuring four-time Grammy® and multi-Country Music Award winning artist Keith Urban. The country superstar is joined by multi-talented recording artist and actor,Nick Jonas along with homegrown talents Shawn Mendesand Lights. The two and a half hour spectacular is hosted by Cheryl Hickey, Rick Campanelli and Sangita Patel. #ETCanadaNYE at Niagara Falls starts at 10pm (local time) on Global.

The evening will be surging with memorable moments as the crowd counts down to midnight with live performances by international country star Keith Urban who infuses the audience with his chart-topping melodies, and the smooth sounds of Nick Jonas. Lights dazzles with her techno tunes, and this year’s viral pop phenomenon Shawn Mendes serenades fans with his hit single “Life of the Party.”

Beginning today, fans can vote for their favourite “Star of the Year” by visiting etcanada.com/battle. Starting with 64 of 2014’s hottest celebs, each round will narrow down the most voted Star of the Year to be announced during the live broadcast on December 31. Last year’s New Year’s Eve battlegarnered over 500,000 votes and a flood of tweets and Facebook posts from fans rallying for their top choice. With this year’s performers Keith Urban, Nick Jonas and Shawn Mendes on the list, it’s going to be a tight race!
Leading up to the big night, excitement builds as viewers across the country get a preview of what to expect from Canada’s most anticipated New Year’s Eve party by tuning into Global News throughout the day. Reporting live on the ground from Niagara Falls, Global’s very own Rosey Edeh and Peter Kim will share what’s happening behind-the-scenes, conduct interviews with the stars and capture a sneak peek of rehearsals.
Last year the two and a half hour event garnered a total of 1.3 million viewers (2+, national) with an increase of 526,000 more viewers over the previous year. At the stroke of midnight viewership peaked at over 3.4 million (2+, national) Canadians tuning in to ET Canada to usher in the new year, which is a 67% increase over last year and more than any other show in Canada.
